On 14 October 2000 on a visit to Invercauld House, Braemar my Clan Chief, Captain A A C Farquharson MC, invited me to start a new clan society. We held the first meeting in Edinbrgh on 20 January 2001. We have since then had a membership of over 100 members and have grown the membership so tat we now have members from USA, Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, Australia and Thailand. We hold our annual Gathering in Ballater, Aberdeenshire, Scotland in August to coincide with the Ballater Victoria Week and the Ballater Highland Games. Wew provide a Colour Party and Bannerman for the formal entrance to the highland games of our Clan Chief who is the Chieftain of the games. HM the Queen and later HM the King provide 12 members of their Royal Guard to line the entrance for the Chieftain.
I am currently Honorary Vice President, having held the post of President several times.
